Yes, we do. Some pests and wildlife are considered to be emergencies when discovered and others can be handled the next business day or as soon as possible.
Poisonous or harmful animals like some snakes, spiders, and wild or rabid animals need to be removed ASAP.
If the pest is a potential immediate danger to you and anyone else then it could be considered an emergency. Another example would be a wild animal like a raccoon wandering around your living room, or a cockroach invasion at night before your restaurant grand opening. The confirmed presence of bed bugs might also be considered an emergency especially if found in a public building since they’re so difficult to remove and spread easily.
If you are faced with a pest or animal emergency, or you struggle with a severe phobia and need someone to come right away, we do offer 24 hour pest control services in Atlanta and the surrounding cities.
We have techs on standby 24/7 365 days a year and are ready to come to your aid, just give us a call!
There isn’t a set price for ant extermination without first understanding the size of the infestation, how big your property is, what ants are affecting it, and what we need to do to eliminate it. We do our best to keep our ant control rates affordable. When you contact us with details of your problem we can provide a free estimate.
DIY ant control is difficult. Really, any type of do it yourself pest management method can be prone to failure. In the case of ants, it often requires purposefully attracting thousands of ants on your property before hoping they take toxins back to their colony, and the best case scenario is that the colony is eliminated but other ants take its place. In the long term, comprehensive integrated pest management can help keep you from experiencing a serious ant problem.
Ants live in colonies so even if your spray kills the handful of ants you find in the kitchen, it’s likely that you’ll just see more tomorrow. We not only remove the individual ants in your house or business, we also seek out and remove the colony they came from and set up preventive measures to keep more ants from coming in the future.
Ants, like most other pests, are drawn to places that offer them food and water. Your property also offers a sheltered area to build a nest. Keep your kitchen and dining areas consistently clean of food debris and check often for leaks in the kitchen and bathroom. Cleaning your gutters and other sources of leaf clutter and fixing window screens can also help at least keep most ants out of your property.
No. Their bites can cause itchy, red reactions due to the saliva they inject when they bite you, but there are no known pathogens that they can spread to humans. Some people don’t react to bed bug bites at all, which is good for them but can cause infestations to grow without being noticed.
The red, itchy welts that bed bug bites can cause can look very similar to bites from other insects, especially mosquitos. If you’re only using the bites themselves as evidence, you can examine how the bites are arranged. Mosquitos tend to bite once, in a random location. If they do bite multiple times, the other bites will also be in random spots since they’ll fly to the area that calls to them. But bedbugs almost always feed multiple times, often in sets of 3. That’s why bed bug control companies often refer to these bites as “breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” They may also bite in a near-straight line.
Bed bug infested furniture can often be treated and restored to its previous state. If you want to get rid of your mattress or couch anyway, don’t dispose of it in just any common area without making it clear to others that it has bed bugs. Removing bedbug infested furniture is highly unlikely to solve any problems related to bedbugs.
We recommend you visit our Atlanta bed bug page for more information if your dealing with that pest.
They can, but they greatly prefer to eat anything else over humans. They usually infest a building because of garbage or food debris that’s present. Bites are most likely to occur at night, be located on the hands, eyebrows, and feet, and result in irritation or swelling.
Not really. There aren’t many smells cockroaches are repelled by. After all, they eat almost anything, including things found in and near feces. There are some over-the-counter pest control products that can help, but these often have little to no effect on eggs. Simply cleaning regularly and hiring a pest control professional to completely remove an infestation is the best solution.
The size of the infestation and sometimes the species of cockroach are the primary factors to consider when estimating a time frame for cockroach extermination services. Your technician will be better able to give you an idea of how long to expect treatment to take after learning more about your case.
Some termites require more work than others, and some do more damage. Removing drywood termites is typically a lengthier and more involved process that requires top to bottom fumigation because they live inside of the wood. Drywood termites can also live in wood for years without the property owner’s knowledge.
However, subterranean termites – specifically Formosan termites – tend to do more damage. They are easier to find and treat, but if left unchecked, the amount of costly damage they do to a property can be far greater.
That said, all kinds of termites can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, necessitating repairs that can cost thousands of dollars.
To learn more about termite treatments we offer visit our Atlanta termite control page.
In warmer climates like Georgia, termites are typically active consistently throughout the year. If it’s cold, they may be a little less active. Depending on the species, they swarm in the spring or late summer. An infestation can be easier to detect then because the groups of flying termites are easier to notice.
In some ways, yes. Spiders do not generally travel in group, so removing any individual spider tends to be fairly easy. But the presence of spiders is usually a sign of a larger problem, including entrance points that allow spiders to enter frequently as well as a high likelihood of other pests. If you are certain that there is only one spider on your property, then eliminating that spider is enough to remove it. But if you see one spider, there are usually many more hiding away in different areas of the home.
If you see one of the more dangerous spiders, keep some distance. However, most spiders are not aggressive and will not attack unless provoked. You are much larger and more dangerous to them.
One thing to remember about spider venom is that the venom of a black widow, brown recluse, etc. is not more potent than the venom of other spiders. It’s just that these are the only spiders whose venom specifically seems to affect human beings. There are many spiders with more potent venom that doesn’t affect humans.
Black widows tend to be the easiest to notice. These pitch black spiders have large “rear ends” that also have a red hourglass shape in the center. Contrary to popular belief, it’s rare to find black widow spiders indoors except in areas like basements and attics.
Brown recluse spiders look very similar to other small brown spiders. They’re a little bigger than a quarter, with a thinner brown body and long legs. The only way to identify if a bite is from a brown recluse is to also catch the spider, as too many spiders have a similar appearance.
Hobo spiders are not supposed to be native to Georgia, but some pest control companies claim to report sightings. It is likely that these sightings were other spiders mistaken for hobo spiders. They are also small, brown, with a slightly larger rear end that has a light yellow tone to it.
Honeybees are so beneficial that, yes, if they are located further away from your property it is illegal to eliminate them. We also do not recommend it unless there is an allergy, as honeybees are not aggressive. Not if they’re wild and nesting in a home or business. In these cases, they’re considered a nuisance insect, so it’s entirely legal for licensed pest control companies to remove them in Georgia.
The cost to treat a wasp or bee infestation is determined by different variables in each case. These can include the size of the nest or colony being removed, the species being removed, where the nest is located, and more. We can provide you with a free, no-obligations quote when you contact us with more information about your case. Some infestations may be covered by your monthly pest control plan.
We believe in humane pest control for all pests that are good for the environment. We do leave traps for rats and mice, as they are less beneficial for the environment and a fast extermination is often needed, but we do our best to never harm squirrels, bats, birds, and other wildlife that are only pests when they’re on your property, but are otherwise great for Georgia.
